Coral Cove is one of Koh Samui's better snorkelling spots, a secluded 200-meter cove with coral formations and tropical fish visible close to shore. However, coral health has declined in recent years and water clarity varies — conditions are best in the morning during calm weather in the dry season (December–April). Please practice responsible snorkelling: don't feed the fish, don't touch or stand on coral, and avoid using non-reef-safe sunscreen.

The distinctive reddish-brown coarse sand mixed with rocky material gives this beach a unique character quite different from traditional white sand beaches. The dramatic rock formations make it an excellent photography location, while the remote feel provides genuine solitude.

Access is via a small, steep road directly off the main ring road (Route 4169). The entrance is narrow and the slope is steep — challenging for larger vehicles. Parking is very limited, with space for only 3–4 cars and a handful of motorbikes and scooters. Most visitors arrive by scooter or taxi.

Coral Cove Resort operates on the beach with a restaurant, bar, and sunbed and umbrella rental available to visitors. Basic food and drinks are available without a reservation. However, there are no public toilet or shower facilities — these are for resort customers only. Bring your own snorkelling gear as rental is not always available.

The cove's east-facing orientation and surrounding cliffs mean the beach receives direct morning sun but falls into shade by mid-afternoon (around 4pm). Visit in the morning for the best light and warmest conditions — this is also when snorkelling visibility tends to be best.

Submerged boulders are present throughout the cove — always wear a mask when entering the water to see what's below. The water is 3–5 metres deep close to shore, which is unusual for Koh Samui beaches. This is not a suitable beach for weak swimmers or young children. Chaweng Noi lies just to the north and Lamai Beach to the south, both accessible within a few minutes by road.
