Chaweng Noi
1 km of fine white sand
Chaweng Noi stretches approximately 1 km along Koh Samui's east coast, forming a quieter southern extension of the main Chaweng Beach. It features the same excellent fine white sand but a notably quieter atmosphere, making it the local's choice for Chaweng-area visitors.
Some sections of the beach are accessed through resort properties. Public access paths exist but can be easy to miss — look for signposted paths between resorts. The main road access is well-maintained.
The beach provides good wave conditions for body surfing during certain seasons. While there are fewer direct vendors and convenience stores than central Chaweng, you'll find good restaurants and beach bars.
Coral Cove lies just to the south, accessible by a short walk over the rocks at low tide or by road. It's one of Koh Samui's best spots for snorkelling with clearer water and a small reef.
Lifeguard coverage is limited and inconsistent — do not rely on lifeguard presence. Swimming is largely at your own risk. During the monsoon season (October–November), rip currents and stronger waves can occur. Exercise caution and avoid swimming in rough conditions or when red flags are displayed.
It's an excellent choice for families seeking Chaweng amenities with less crowding, or couples wanting a quieter atmosphere while still having access to the island's main tourist hub.
