Sunday Roast

Dr Frogs Bar & Grill, on the clifftop between Chaweng Noi and Lamai, serves a Sunday roast from midday every week until it runs out. There's a choice of sirloin of beef, leg of lamb, herb-stuffed porchetta, a mixed roast of all three, or a chestnut mushroom and lentil nut roast.

Every plate comes with the full set of trimmings: roast potatoes with garlic and thyme, glazed carrots, a three-cheese cauliflower and leek gratin, greens, braised red cabbage, Yorkshire puddings and gravy simmered for three days. For pudding there's apple and blackberry crumble, sherry trifle, or banoffee pie.

Children eat at half price. Tables are on the main terrace or on the lower deck above the rocks, looking out over the Gulf of Thailand. The roast often sells out, so it's worth arriving early.
